aadhaar: Jammu and Kashmir: Aadhaar authentication made compulsory for Amarnath Yatra


Jammu and Kashmir management on Monday mentioned pilgrims aspiring to adopt the Amarnath Yatra should furnish their Aadhaar card or post to Aadhaar authentication voluntarily. “In pursuance to Rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Just right Governance (Social welfare, innovation, Wisdom) Regulations 2020, the Executive of Jammu and Kashmir with the prior approval of the Central govt hereby notifies that pilgrims desirous of endeavor pilgrimage to the Shri Amarnathji shrine shall furnish evidence of ownership of Aadhar or go through Aadhar authentication on voluntary foundation from the date of newsletter of this notification within the authentic gazette,” a notification issued by means of the Normal management division reads.

The yatra, which has been opened to basic public after two years, will start on June 30 and conclude on August 11.

The yatra was once lower brief as a precautionary measure in 2019 after the Centre imposed serious restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370.
