Ghanaian giants, Ashanti Gold SC have been drawn against Burkina Faso outfit Salitas FC in the preliminary stage of the 2020/2021 edition of the CAF Confederations Cup competition.
Last season, the Miners played in the same competition but failed to impress and had to exit at the preliminary stage.
Following the abrupt end to the 2019/2020 football season in June, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed Ashanti Gold SC the backing to play in the CAF Confederations Cup competition this season as well.
At the end of the official draw for the continent’s inter-club competition today, the Obuasi-based club has been paired with Burkina Faso giants Salitas FC for the first round of the preliminary stage.
Ashanti Gold SC now needs to prepare adequately to ensure they overcome the opponent over two legs in order to have the chance to progress to the Group Phase of the competition.
