Coach CK Akonnor has indicated that it is his goal to lead Ghana to victory against Sudan next month when the two countries lock horns in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Pitted in Group C of the qualifiers to the next continental showpiece, the Black Stars sit top of the standings after picking up 6 points from the first two matches.
With Ghana set to continue the qualifiers in November against Sudan, head coach CK Akonnor says he is aware of the pressure, the desire of Ghanaians to get the win, and hence that is his aim.
“Of course, we want to continue from where he left off. Fortunately for me, I was there before he left and I am continuing from there.
“There is always heat, whether a friendly match or a competitive match, and that heat will always be there and we are made of that kind of thing”, Coach CK Akonnor said in an interview with the Communications team of the GFA.
Coach Akonnor continued, “Ghana will not accept any loss and therefore it is important for us to work hard to always achieve success.
“We have got to be alert, the way we do things and I strongly believe that once the boys come in numbers to honour that match, we will do our best to get a win”.
Ghana’s clash against Sudan is scheduled to be played in the next international break in November.
