Customs Intercept Narcotics Worth N22 Million And Generate N99 Million In July.

 

Kebbi Command of the Nigeria Customs Service reported intercepting 138 cartons of tramakings/tramadol valued at N22 million at the Kamba border in Kebbi State.

The Comptroller of Customs, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, stated this at the customs headquarters in Birnin Kebbi. He added that the command also seized 46 bags of foreign parboiled rice weighing 50 kilograms, 40 bags weighing 25 kilograms, 88 bales of second-hand clothing, 4,200 litres of PMS, and 500 litres of diesel.

Oramalugo, who stated that he delivered the seized drugs to NDLEA Commander Usman Suleiman, noted that his command was able to intercept the items due to the sustained cooperation with pertinent units and other security agencies at state border stations.

Despite the mutiny in neighboring Niger Republic and subsequent border closure, the command still managed to generate N99,282,547 in July, and the duty paid value of the seized goods was N51,493,314.
