The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has announced Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan’s appointment as Vice Chancellor of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.
He made the announcement on Wednesday while receiving reports from the Chairmen of the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital Planning and Implementation Committee and the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Planning and Implementation Committee in the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the state capital.
During his speech, Makinde reassured the institution’s employees that they have nothing to fear, as his administration will not fire anyone.
He commended the efforts of both committee chairs, Professors Juwon Arotiba and Ayodeji Omole, and their respective committee members.
“We would like to thank Professor Deji Omole once more. The journey began prior to my election as governor of Oyo State. Permit me to contextualize what you had to do to get us to this point.
“However, based on the brief conversation I had this morning with a representative of the National Universities Commission (NUC), I am aware that we may not be able to maintain this for long. We may also relieve those tasked with administering tertiary institutions in Oyo State of their responsibilities, he added.
