The Last of Us and Succession from HBO are nominated for the most 2023 Emmys.

On Wednesday, the nominees for the 2023 Emmy Awards were revealed. HBO and Max had the most nominations, closely followed by Netflix. HBO/Max outperformed all other networks and streaming services for the 21st year in a row by receiving 127 Emmy nominations.

With 25 nominations and four wins in 2022, “Succession” had the most wins and nominations. 13 Emmys have been won by the program overall. The fourth and last season of the well-liked drama series came to an end in May.

Additionally, three performers were recognized for “Succession”‘s Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Brian Cox (who plays Logan Roy), Jeremy Strong (who plays Kendall Roy), and Kieran Culkin (who plays Roman Roy). This is the first time three actors from the same series have received Lead Actor nominations at the same time.

While “The White Lotus” received 23, the well-known video game adaptation “The Last of Us” received 24 nominations.

Netflix, which got 103 nominations for well-known titles like “Wednesday,” “The Crown,” “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” “Beef,” and “Dead to Me,” among others, is Max’s (previously HBO Max) closest rival in the race.

From a record-breaking 58 nominations in 2022, Hulu garnered 64 this year. Only 26 nominations were made for Hulu in 2021. The most nominations were given to “The Bear,” a brand-new Hulu series, with thirteen.

Again, with 21 nominations overall, an increase from its 20 nominations the year before, “Ted Lasso” on Apple TV+ accounted for the majority of the 54 nominations for the streaming service.

For their free, ad-supported streaming services, The Roku Channel and Amazon Freevee, respectively, won 12 and 4 nominations. The most nominations were given to “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” with eight, followed by “Jury Duty” on Amazon Freevee with four.

On September 18, Fox will broadcast the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Nevertheless, the continuing writer’s strike may result in a postponement.
